I dont have in my family side twins. But my wife has from her family side twins. Can i expect identical twins?
I want to know who is responsible for twins birth. Male or female for both identical and non-identical. My parents side no one has twins and from my wife her father side has twins. Can i expect twins?, may be identical or non-identical. Egg is responsible for identical twins or male sperm is responsible.
Identical twins are not determined by genetics.Identical twins are developed by one age splitting in to 2 embryos.Biological twins are developed from 2 ages being fertilized at the same time.If your wife cerise this gene,then you have a 50/50 chance of having or not having twins.Your genes would determine if you dodder was to have twins.

you have a chance of having twins, identical or fraternal, if either of you have a history of conceiving twins (or any multiple births) in the family. Either the sperm or the egg may be responsible.

Science says identical twins are only a fluke. There is no family gene for that. (not sure if I believe it or not) However, fraternal twins means the woman releases 2 eggs. So, if her family has a history of fraternal twins (not identical) then yes, there is a chance. But, it doesn’t mean there is no chance… it’s up to the ovaries and the eggs. If egg wants to split… it will!

Everyone has a chance of having twins. But if the twins in your wife’s family are identical twins, that means nothing - identical twins happen randomly. Non-identical twins happen when two eggs are relased instead of one, and the tendency for that does run in families, obviously that’s down to the woman.
Even so, you are far more likely to have a single baby than twins no matter how many sets of twins are in yor wife’s family.

You can never ‘expect’ twins. Even if they’re in your family you still have a fairly low chance of conceiving them.

According to science, the mothers are the ones who carry the genes of non-identical twins. However, I know many cases where the father is a twin and has twins. Why, I don’t know. Identical twinning, however, is random and does not matter if you have identical twins in your family.
