Moms to twins or HOM: What was a necessity or a waste of money when it came to your babies?

I’m having twins, and I was wondering what you think is a necessity or a waste of money when it came to your babies? I’m looking for suggestions, ideas, or opinions. Please no rude answers, thanks.
Waste of $…wipe warmers, changing tables, boppy pillow and bottle warmers for the car…Worth the $, baby swing, basinett that converts to a playpen later, highchair, bumbo seat and bottle brush

Waste of money:
Wipe warmers
Changing tables
Bassinet (Even though we used ours to the fullest, it was a waste of money bc the baby can go straight into the crib at birth - personal preference though)
I received & bought many different types of bottles & ended up throwing about 30 away when she was 1.5mons old. Stick w/ one type.
Sterilizers - boiling water works just as good, if not better
Nursery water - boiled water (some prefer nursery water though)
Let me think of some more…
References :
Necessary: 2 cribs, 2 convertible car seats w/stroller,a great breast pump (not a hand pump), 2 portable swings (not big stationary ones)
Not Necessary: 2 of each toy, matching clothes
You can email me specifics if you have more questions. I have 4 yr old twin boys.

I found that I didn’t really need a baby bath tub, I just take her in with me. It might be different with 2, though. But you could always have hubby or someone else babysit one while you bathe the other.
EDIT: I don’t get why there is a TD. Just telling you what worked for me!

You will need to look into specific nursing pillows for twins. A basic boppy won’t cut it. (They’re not even that great for singles.)

Waste of money: We bought our girls theses little educational videos and they just never watched them and they DVDs were $20 for new-born’s! A changing table because we have a soft cusion bed and we can just change our girls on that! Wipe Warmers are just so FAKE!!
BUT GOOD LUCK ON YOUR TWINS !!!!!!!!!!!! ♥

necessary — 1.) double stroller… I bought the Inglesina Twinswift for $200 shipped and got a lot of mileage out of it. Even though it states 6 months and up, the seats recline to almost lying down and I used it on my preemies right from the hospital(you can roll up receiving blankets or cloth diapers to keep them snug in the straps).
2)bouncy seat — I would get tired of holding them both all the time before they could crawl, and mine happened to be very needy. I used to take turns holding them and put one in the bouncy seat and lightly rock it with my foot. If you bottle feed and you don’t have much help, you might want to get two seats, to make feeding them both easier.
unnecessary — too many of any one kind of bottle(you never know what kind of nipples they are going to accept or reject)

What we had that we thought would be useful but ended up not were…
bottle Warmer
Wipes warmer
having too many newborn clothes - they wore onsies most of the time the first three months so alot of really cute newborn clothes were never worn
Having too many toys - they only need a few little noise makers
You don’t always need two of everything, they can share. We had one big swing and one vibrating chair, we would switch them every so often.

I think it varies for each person, but the only things I have found necessary to have in duplicate are car seats and the stroller that they fit onto (babytrend carseats and their double snap-n-go stroller), and my nursing pillow. At 13 weeks my twins still sleep in the same bassinet and I plan to keep them in the same crib unless it becomes a problem. I have found having a few types of bouncy chairs or swings available is nice because they each have a preference on which one they like and it’s nice to have a place to put them both. If you plan on nursing, I highly recommend the EZ-2-Nurse nursing pillow. It’s designed for twins and makes it possible to nurse both at once, which is a big time saver. I have also been using cloth diapers and it has been surprisingly easy to do and saves a lot of money (I use prefolds and covers because it’s the cheapest option). Those are the only things specific to twins that I feel like are necessities.
