Mily’s twin brother had hemophilia. The parents don’t have hemophilia now. Mily and her twin were NOT adopted. Her boyfriend, Joe, if their grandchildren will get hemophilia, and if her parents will get hemophilia in their old age when they need to be supported. No one in Joe’s family tree going back 6 generations including all the 400+ cousins has ever had hemophilia.

I already know that Mily can’t get hemophilia. I’m confused about the rest. Could you maybe explain it with words and a punnett square?

at most Miley is carrying the hemophilia gene–

if she is–a boy has a 50% chance having hemophilia

its possible she doesn’t have the gene at all–if thats the case–her children will not have hemophilia

a man can pass hemophilia to his daughters (not his sons) since it is X linked

if a man with hemophilia has a girl with a mother who is a carrier i believe the girl has a 50% chance of having hemophilia

you are born with hemophilia–it doesn’t develop….

her genes are different from her brother as it was 2 eggs and 2 sperm

she would need a genetic test to see if she is a carrier

a square is hard to draw here—

I am the only identical twin in my family the rest are not.

If you have any fraternal twins from like your mom, grandmother, aunts, cousins [females only] then yes you do have an icnreased chance of having twins. But identical twins are seen as a freak of nature and are not genetic.

Chpt. 1 DOES THIS SOUND ANY GOOD…?

Title: Getting There -The Vine Twins
By: Jenna K
I am writing this book… and i have gotten a few chapters in..
tell me what you think! thanks.
Needs work. i know. More detail…
Better story line..
And the format is not like this… i had to pull it all together so i wasnt spaced out
on this website…
so please give your comments. best one. gets best answer…lol

Chpt:1 The Start
“Nik. Nikki! Pick up the phone!” Lexa yelled to me as she entered my bedroom and woke me up.
Lexana Vine is my identical twin sister, my other half. Without her I would be completely lost! She understands me when no one does. She’s my best friend…
My name is Nicolette Vine, Nik or Nikki for short. I’m about 5”6 and I have naturally honey brown hair, and brown eyes. My sister looks just like me.
Were 16 years old, juniors at Bellwood High in *************, C.A. It’s January, the beginning of the semester.
Like most twins- we are very different. Lexa has a girly, preppy type of style and attitude.
I on the other hand, don’t. I guess you could say that I’m the laid back type. I’m not as confident as my sister. She’s comfortable in her own skin. And I’m not. I don’t know why either. It’s just me, I guess. I sat up quickly and answered the cordless phone charging on my bedside table. Cleared my throat. And spoke.
“Hello?” I asked. Still looking at Lexa standing in front of my now closed door walking slowly over to my computer desk.
“Hey Nikki its me.” I recognized my mother’s voice.
Let me cut in here…my moms name is Tracy and my dads name is David. They are both professional photographers (that’s how they met) they work a lot and work with celebrities from all over. When we were little Lexa and I used to get personal photos and headshots taken. Were really into acting. That’s our dream. To become famous and be on movies and TV shows. We’ve only landed in a few commercials when we were 8 and we’ve been completely connected to being on camera ever since. It’s in our blood.
“Oh hey mom what’s up?” I asked.
“Oh I was just calling to let you know that me and your father are going to be a little late coming home off work tonight. We have a big “17 magazine edition” were shooting of Ashley Tisdale.” She stated.
“Oh alright then have a good day!”
“Ok sweetie, Love you!” she hung up.
I hung up the phone and put it back on the charger. I looked over to Lexa now sitting at my computer desk online chatting on the Internet using my white laptop. (She has her own black one.) She turned around and looked at me closing it shut.
“What are you going to do today? She questioned.
“ Uh, I’m not sure yet…you?
She sighed. “I have to go to drive to Amber’s house rite now to work on that biology project Mr. Dasid assigned yesterday.”
“But, Its Saturday morning.” I said.
“Exactly which MEANS I only have 5 more days to work on it!” Lexa added. She got up quickly, out of my computer chair and headed for the door.
“Oh and before I go DON’T forget to feed Kay Jay! I’ll call you later on your cell.” She left. (Kay Jay’s our puppy we got last Christmas)
“Ok!” I called after her but she was already downstairs. Ready to go.
I finally got out of bed and looked over at my alarm clock. It read 10:27 am. I walked to the restroom Lexa and I share down the hall. Located rite next to our parent’s bedroom.
I reached the bathroom. Brushed my teeth, washed my face and put on some “covergirl” mascara and blush. Then I brushed through my golden brown hair and used bobby pins for a “half up half down” style I got dressed in my usual “at home” outfit skinny jeans and a white spaghetti strap with a button up blouse on top. I headed downstairs and grabbed my favorite cereal from the cabinet. Cheerios.
I sat there thinking of how I was going to spend my Saturday. When I finished eating, I cleaned my dishes and grabbed some grapes to snack on. Then I headed for the stairs.
I went to my room that is painted one of my favorite colors. Orange. My fuzzy bedspread and rugs are Brown my other favorite color. I chose the theme based on that…
I went to my new laptop that I got on Lexa and my last birthday that recently passed on December 4th. Checked my e-mail and saw that 6 of my friends were online.
Haley, Jenni, Melrose, Janae, Mark, and Noah.
I entered chats with three of my good friends there, online. Janae, Haley and Melrose. We spoke back and forth talking about school and this one new store that opened up at the mall Lexa and I work at 4 days a week.
I invited them all to come over so we could go to the mall for the day and hang out. Janae wrote back and said she didn’t have a ride over, so I got ready to go and pick her up.
As I got offline I got my money together and put it in my leather brown bag I usually use for school and switched out my folder and pencil packet for my wallet and my favorite book “Secrets of My Hollywood Life” I like to read when I’m bored. I put on my brown Chuck Taylor Converse, rushed

It’s pretty bad. Go back and edit. Do you know the difference between were and we’re? Do you know you shouldn’t dump a bunch of information on the readers when the first start reading your book? It bores us, and we don’t want to continue. I’m talking about you telling us where the twins go to school, and then again when you stop the story and tell us about their parents. You can find a better way to do that. You also tell instead of show.

i get very worried and mad whenever i hear about woman who undergo fertility treatments or have insemination when they know they have passed the phase where they could have had a healthy baby. i don’t know where this trend came from, all these celebrities that are almost 40 having baby’s and twins. meanwhile almost all these children are sick. most have heart problems, others have some mental disabilities, hormone problems, growth problems, but most have heart problems. and it’s not like we don’t know like 20 years ago. we know that even if u take hormones or have Ur own egg inseminated, the child will have problems. most of these babies stay months is the cofeuse, and a lot don’t make it. I can not understand why a mother would want a child so bad even when she knows ( cause most pp know ok what the chances are of difficulties or an unhealthy child) why would u choose to bring that child to life, does every mother not dream of a healthy baby, do u not want the best for ur child. and this is a situation where u urself choose to bring that fetus to life, its something u do urself. to me this is very selfish and it not about the child its not about wanting a child to love, it’s about u, it’s about u wanting to say hey i can still have a baby, or wanting a certain life style for ur own benefit when u let the change for this lifestyle pas u by. cause most of these woman are woman that choose a certain lifestyle that did not allow them to have a child. and know this past lifestyle will influence their child, meaning, alcohol, smoking, drugs, pills ect. so to me woman in this situation willingly bringing an unhealthy child to life, a child that will have problems as he/she grows and if she wants a child or her own someday. I see this as child abuse and i wonder why nobody else.
there are so many children in this world that need a home, if u really want a child so bad what does it matter if u gave birth to it or not, or is it that u just want to give birth?
I have seen sick children, i have seen children that now are my age and have problems because there mother took hormones when she was already 35+ and i know a six year old girl that has had 2 heart transplants, kidney problems, cant go to school cant play and has to be around an oxygen tank all the time, just because her parents decided to have her when they were 45 and 60. ( and no it did not happen naturally) every i look at this woman i feel disgusted. Am i
the only one? ofcourse there are healty woman that need some extra hormones or vitamins but that is not what i am talking about here i am talking about cases where it is already known that there will be complications.
pls dont change the subject i am not talking about pp that get complications during pregnancy i know there are so many things that can go wrong that we dont have power over, i am not talking about abortion here. i am talking about pp talking this riks before there is a fetus like X said paying so much money and no it not your decicions cause this is not your life this is an other person a life that is not yours that what i am talking pp do not realize that your child is not just ur child its another person with a life of its own. and i write about it because i see it everyday and have 2 deal with it.

I think it is very easy to judge someone when you don’t understand their position. You know what you would do but that doesn’t make it the best choice for everyone. Women discuss these decisions with their doctors, husbands, families and themselves before taking a big risk - yes it’s a risk but for them it is worth it. I’m still young and I wouldn’t choose to have a child late in life but I’m not going to sit around writing a 3 paragraph discussion on how wrong they are for not doing what I do. Birth defects, miscarriage, and pregnancy complications happen at any age and a woman who wants her own child and pays 12 grand for IVF should be allowed to make that choice.

For some years now science has understood the health benefits of omega 3 essential fatty acids. It is now clearly established that these benefits are equally important for the health of our kids. Omega 3 fatty acids are just as important in the diet of our kids, or even more so, than in the diet of adults. And this requirement for omega 3 fats begins at conception.

Omega 3 essential fatty acids are primarily found in fish oil. Kids, like adults, have a minimum requirement for levels of omega 3 essential fats in their bodies for proper and healthy development. This has now been emphasised by a new study from the University of Wollongong’s School Of Health Sciences in Australia which has concluded that Australian children are highly deficient in omega 3. Children in America and the rest of the developed world will be the same.

In this study it was found that 3 year old children had an average intake of omega 3 essential fats of 47 milligrams and the professor who undertook the study described this intake as “desperately low”.

The 2 essential fatty acids that are commonly found in fish oil are DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). And it is well known that the levels of these essential fatty acids in adults in the US are way too low. This now applies to children. Omega 3 levels in our children are also way too low and there are a range of health implications from this.

The study noted that the demands of omega 3 in children starts at conception and that brain development during the 3rd trimester of pregnancy required a high level of DHA to be available. Equally brain development during the first 2 years of infancy also required adequate levels of Omega3 fats. Kids need omega 3 for adequate brain development and do not have enough.

A child cannot supplement its diet own with omega 3. Children have these decisions made for them by their parents. Parents should consider increasing their own intake of fish oil as well as increasing the amount of fish oil in children’s diets because their own health and the health of their kids depends on it.

And the development of a child’s brain is not the only health issue negatively impacted by inadequate levels of omega 3. Kids have a wide range of health issues many of which can benefit from increasing their intake of fish oil. Kids with levels of omega 3 that are too low exhibit an increased risk of asthma, lower IQ as established on IQ tests, poor visual development, slower brain development and an increased risk of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to name a few.

Clearly there are serious issues involved when considering the supplementation of omega 3 in children. This can be achieved by increasing their intake of fish however there are various issues associated with this including mercury contamination, the price of fish and the well known dislike of fish by children.

In fact I supplement the diet of my own children with omega 3 fish oil capsules. If children are too young to take capsules it is a simple matter to cut the top off and pour the fish oil onto their breakfast. Children are not even aware that the fish oil is there.

The decisions that parents make about the diet of their children affects the healthy development of their children. Omega 3 supplementation is simple, cost-effective and should be started by the mother from the beginning of pregnancy. Omega 3 supplementation in the mother even increases the levels of DHA in her breastmilk which in turn increases the level of Omega3 in infants who are breastfeeding.

But not all Omega 3 capsules are high quality and there are important issues to understand about the freshness of the fish oil used, the amount of DHA present in the supplements and the effectiveness of the essential fats found in the capsules.

On my website I seek to educate my readers about how to compare the different fish oil supplements available and to tell them which omega 3 supplements I have chosen for myself and my children.
