Why when having twins do parents want to?

have matching names or start with the same letter ect

I never understood this,is it because its ‘cute’
or what?

I don’t mean to offend anyone
Im just wondering why.

I don’t know, strangley my twins are named Emma and Annabelle, but my first two boys who are eleven months apart are named Dilyn and Dustyn. Maybe I had that "cute and unique" thing out of my system. I sure do regeret it though. Noone spells their names right and it really makes life much harder as evryone tends to get them confused.

Okay, so a kind of odd question, and not something im trying to do as i have no plans for having another for a long long time, but im intrigued … is there a way of increasing your chance of having twins.
Obviously IVF treatments where they implant two or more eggs increases the chance. But i mean in a more natural way? Like can you take medication that makes you produce more than one egg a month?

I’m 15 weeks pregnant with twins.
I fell after releasing 2 eggs while taking clomid.
I knew I had 2 eggs that month because they scan your ovaries before they are released.
So I guess if you really wanted twins you could ask a fertility specialist about being prescribed clomid but be sure to have the ovary scans done as you DO NOT want to fall pregnant with 5 babies… very risky for you and the babies.

I just found out I’m about 2 months pregnant and have not yet gone to the doctor. I was born with a twin brother and also have along line of boy and girl twins run in my family.
My grandmother has did the old "string on a needle" test on about 7 women and all 7 gender test have been accurate each time.
So my grandmother did the "string on a needle" test to determine my child’s gender and lord be hold, the needle swung in a circle (which means a boy), the needle then stopped, and started swinging back and fourth in a line motion (which means a girl).
My family has come to believe I’m having twins.
So my question Is, has any mothers ever had this happen with the old "needle & string" test? Does this most likely mean I’m having twins?

lol they did that one to me, it said i was having a boy and it was the only one im having. a few weeks later, the doc told me i was having a girl… so hopefully its not the only one i’m having!

My Aunt (Mom’s sister, so it runs on my mom’s side of the family. Her grandpa was a twin) has two sets of fraternal twins, and my boyfriend IS a fraternal twin. How likely is it that I would conceive twins? Like 50/50 or more than that?
By god I hope your right. I read the whole twin daughters thing and about killed over. I don’t want to have twins, and he does. I work in a group home for delinquents and don’t think I could handle two teenagers at once, let alone girls! LOL

Fraternal twins come from two different eggs. So you’ll have to release two eggs… it’s all up to your own body. However, identical twins come from one egg. That can happen due to either parents DNA. Your chances of having fraternal twins is the same as for everyone else 1 in 33 or 3%.

Of course, if you’re on hormones, the sky’s the limit!!!!

My wonderful husband and I are still technically newlyweds, but I feel as though that amazing aspect of our lives is being somewhat overshadowed by an even more amazing aspect of our lives- we’re about to become parents, of twins! We were so excited when we found out that we conceived on our honeymoon four months ago. However, with all this added excitement comes a lot of added stress in the preparation for the arrival of our little ones. While I’m at home "taking it easy" under the request of our OB/GYN, my poor hubby is working an additional ten hours a week to make ends meet without deplenishing our savings. To show my appreciation for all his support and attentiveness to all my needs I want to surprise him with a romantic evening for just the two of us.
Here is what I have planned so far…

Candles… for ambience.
Aromatherapy Wax… because he absolutely loves the smell.
Music – Smooth Jazz mixed with Old School Ballads… to set the mood.
Dinner – Seafood Stuffing and Baked Chicken Breasts… two of his favorites.
A Gift – True Blood Season Two… he was ecstatic when I purchased Season One for his birthday.
?? What else can I do for my honey bun??
I’m on a budget, but hubby loves to be pampered. Maybe I can find some inexpensive ways to make it a spa night. I have a footbath I could pick up from my mom’s house and give him a relaxing foot massage. I think I may have seen a parrafin tub at Wal*Mart for like fifteen bucks. I could give him a manicure. I could also look online for a few of those “how-to” videos for at-home facials.
I know this may seem like a lot, but I can’t begin to explain how imaginative my sweetheart can be when it comes to the things he’ll do to put a smile on my face. I just want to show him I care.

wow i really need to applaud you for your efforts to make your man happy. Sounds like you two are on the right path. Anyway i think what you have already planned is great. Remember you said he works extra hours which means when he comes from home he will be tired. You do not want to drown him with a lot of stuff. You do not want him falling asleep during the manicure or anything right. The treat you have prepared is amazing and i am certain he will be thrilled

what are the odds of having twins agian?

we had twins almost 2 years ago which was a shock to both of us since we dont have them in our family, my wife was not on any pills or anything they were a miracle.
i want another baby but im not sure if my wife will i know she has her hands full with 2 very active boys and i work alot so she can stay home with them. but im not sure she could handle 4 kids.

If you have had fraternal twins already, your chance of having another set quadruples. This is because most women who conceive fraternals (without fertility drugs) show a pattern of releasing more than one egg per cycle. Your chance of a second set numerically, is about 1 in 3000.

Ok, I am pregnant for the first time(5 going on 6months) and I want to know how possible it is to have twins or triplets. What is the percentage of a woman having twins and triplets being that my da was a twin and my boyfriends mom was a triplets? Being that it skipped both generations(my dad and my boyfriends mom). Preferably a doctor/ ob/gyn…

It is not true that propensity towards having multiples skips generations.

Identical twins are random so that anyone has the same chance of having identical twins, regardless of family history.

Fraternal twins or multiples means that the mother produces more than one egg per cycle. This trait can be passed from mother to daughter. Based on your history, you have the same chance of having multiples as anyone.

If you wish to have multiples, consult a reproductive endocrinologist. I am a mom of triplets.

Im having Twins! Help!?

TWINS!!!!

I really like the name Julia. I don’t care if it is the first or middle name but i need Suggestions on different combinations thanks. Any other names are great too.
also
I have no ideas for boys.
I don’t know what I am having so have fun. I am very open I just don’t want something the kids will be made fun of for

Just pick names that you like. Personally I think it’s awful when twins (or other siblings) have rhyming names. I also think that giving them the same first initial as each other (or the same first initial of the parents) should be avoided as it would cause confusion when they’re older and start to get their own mail. How would you know which J.Doe the letter is for if there are several people called J.Doe in the household?

Having twins… do you like the names?

I’m having twins in 2 months, a boy and a girl. I like names that match for twins. Here are my names:
Boy: Kiegan Bentley (pronounced like *Kee-gan Bent-lee*)
Girl: Karaegyn Mikayleigh (pronounced like *Kare-uh-gan Mi-kay-lee)

What do you think? What are your favorite matching twins names? Any suggestions for my names? Kiegan’s name is set for sure, but I’m not sure about Karaegyn’s middle name.
I like the spellings, those aren’t going to change. I know they are different, and that’s why I like them. And just another detail, Karaegyn is going to have easier nicknames. I’m naming her after a close friend, Kara. So we are going to call her Kara for short. And later, if she decides she doesn’t like that, she can be called Raegyn if she pleases. Other middle names we have been thinking are:
Rosalie
Brieley
or Paisley.

I absolutely LOVE these names! I’ve never heard of Karaegyn but I LOVE it! You should definitely keep both names they go really well together:)

Love these names!
My favorite matching twins names for a boy and a girl would be: Nash and Nevaeh. Madison and Mason. Lucas and Lauren.
I don’t have any suggestions for your names because I love the ones you have picked!
