Naturally conceived fraternal twins tend to run in families because women who have fraternal twins release more than one egg per cycle, and this trait is an inherited trait.

I have fraternal triplets who are all boys which is rarer than mixed gender. For multiple pregnancies the chances of having the same gender is pegged at 12% while the chances of having mixed gender hovers at 33%.
References :
Its not unlikely, but there's more of a chance of twins if it runs in the family (both sides)
only way to guarantee twins is IVF which still isn't 100% and its very expensive.
Im not sure, but non identical twins are more common then identical ones i think?
Identical twins will be the same gender, As non identical ones have a chance at being different genders aswell as the same. Just don't get your hopes up, its pretty hard to have twins without gentic help ect..
References :
17 year old mum,
my mum has been pregnant twice with twins (still borns) Twins on my dads side, Aunty had twins, My partners mum has had 2 sets of twins and his dads sister is a twin.
I misscarried a twin apparently before 5weeks, i have a beautiful daughter now :)
My chances are high!!
