My friend is having twins but she doesnt want them? can i take full custody of them?
This is serious, I’m a 28yr old guy with a really good job, settle life and my friend is having twins, she was going to get an abortion but I convince her to have them and that I would take care of the babies! She decided to have them and now I really want them! Can I sigb the birth certificate as their Father? Can I be the only one to sign the birth certificate, I don’t want her to sign it because I’m afraid she would later on try to get them back! Can I sign as the father and take care of them? I’m trying to avoid the adoption paperwork, time waste and money!
you can my mum told half custody for my babies cousin {unstable mother}and the social services did ask if we want full custody but m,y didn’t think that was fair…..anyway the mother could put them up as a open adoption that mean she choose the person and will still get to see the you and your fried should take this up with social services

No. You can not do that legally. Go to the next extent. if you really wanted these babies you would adopt them. Or they can be taken away from you for false information.

The mother has to sign the birth certificate. You can sign the birth certificate as the father if you want to, but just realize that the real father can go through the courts and get that changed if he wants to. The mother would have to give up her rights to the babies and then you could adopt them…or you could go with a joint custody agreement so that she could continue to be in their life without giving up her rights.

Yahoo Answers is not the place to ask serious questions like this. Find an adoption site or legal site.
I hope to adopt some day and I’ve been told it is a hard long process even if you are adopting a family member like a niece or nephew.
I’d suggest you visit a lawyer just to find out your local laws and how to go about this. I’m not sure if just a reg. visit to a lawyer will be free or not.

No. The mother must sign the birth certificate. If you sign it, you can later be jailed for illegal adoption.
